After brainstorming ideas by creating a jambord and google doc and compiling all of the potential designs/ideas on the various platforms, we began to make preliminary schematics as to what our recreational facilities might look light. We then revisited the outdoor workout equipment at the Metroparks to remeasure the dimensions of the various equipment. In addition to examining the physical structures, we thought that it was important to note the Metroparks calisthenic equipment were likely curated in a way to complement each other to maximize its usage and efficacy for people walking along the trails. As we were are not making a trial with these types of equipment, we had to consider what type of exercises we wanted to implement in our facility, and has yet to be finalized. We then started to draw preliminary diagrams as to what our facility might look like, and elected to use the lawn in front of the senior lot and trophy hallway as potential locations. This prompted us to immediately schedule a meeting with Mrs. Zilenski to discuss the feasibility of both implementing and constructing such structures on campus. In our meeting with Zilenski, we showed her a brief presentation on our current proposal for what we would build and where we would build it, and provided a lot of great insight as to how we should organize our time with internal deadlines and overall projection specifications and approval. We specifically discussed how we still need to reach out to Mr. Lucas about land use approval, and where we would actually be allowed to construct and install the various workout equipment for our recreational facilities. We also thought it would be interesting to implement a relatively small spikeball court to gain student interest in our projection, and hope that it would prime students to use our equipment on a regular basis.
